The Excellent Power of Digital Camera Batteries

• nickel cadmium (NiCd)
• nickel metal hydride (NiMH)

Each type has unique characteristics for different uses established.
NiCd and NiMH:
The main difference between the two lies in the fact that the NiMH batteries (the most recent of the two technologies), offer power densities higher than NiCds. NiMH are less sensitive to the problems and require less maintenance and care. NiMH are also environmentally friendly than their counterparts NiCd, because they do not contain heavy metals (which causes serious problems of landfill).
Li-Ion:
Li-ion produce the same energy as NiMH but weighing about 35% less. This is a practical consideration for portable appliances, where the battery is a not inconsiderable weight of the aircraft.
